The MDP1200 U-chassis medical grade power supplies are currently available in a 24 VDC standard output voltage variation with two cover options for external forced-air or free-air cooling, with 12 and 48 VDC variants in development. The series is well suited for challenging system designs where low profile and low power dissipation are desired with minimal air flow. The forced-air cooled UCF version provides a 12V auxiliary output, thus eliminating the need for an additional fan supply. Designed for maximum efficiency and power density, the series delivers a steady 1000 W over the full input voltage range of 85 - 264 VAC, or a steady 1200 W from 180 VAC and above input line voltage.
The MDP1200 series are parallelable for redundant and/or higher power applications, facilitated by the internal OR-ing and current sharing functions. The series offers both analog and digital controls. Analog signals include DC Power-OK, PS-Inhibit, voltage adjustment, remote sense and current share controls. The digital control uses the standard PMBus™ protocol which allows communications and data logging between the power supply and system, and includes monitoring of input voltage, output voltages (+V1, +12VSB and +5VSB), input current, output current (on +V1), current sharing, thermal health, fan health, life hours, power supply and status informaiton. Additional alarm signals include fan fault, protections failure (OV, OC, OT) and voltages out of specifications. An LED visually indicates power supply status.
The MDP1200 series is approved to the 3rd edition of the ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1, IEC/EN 60601-1 standards for medical grade power supplies, including 2x MoPP means of patient protection and BF appliances compatibility, and complies with the EN 55011, EN 60601-1-2 Class B limits for conducted and radiated emissions, IEC/EN 61000-3 for harmonic and flicker, and IEC/EN 60601-1-2 4th edition for EMC immunity standards.
